3 Degrees Contrast Therapy
15 N Clay Ave, Kirkwood, MO
3 Degrees is a small contrast-therapy studio in Kirkwood built around one guided ritual: breathwork, a cold plunge and a sauna, in that order. Sessions open with music-guided breathwork that blends pranayama with modern technique, then move into a coached ice plunge, around 50°F or colder, and finish in a wood barrel sauna to warm back up. The emphasis is on coaching and community rather than self-serve access, and both beginners and experienced plungers are welcome. The studio grew out of See Fit Living, the wellness practice of functional diagnostic nutritionist and personal trainer Samantha Lander, which St. Louis Magazine featured in 2024 for its Breathwork Ice Plunge Sauna session at $65 a person. 3 Degrees uses the same phone line and still runs the same three-part format, now with flexible memberships, packages that include class access and discounts on coaching, and one-off consultations for people who do not want to commit. Groups and private events are arranged by phone or email. Expect two to three minutes in the cold and a 5-10 minute rest before the heat, and bring a swimsuit and a towel. It is a good fit if you want someone to walk you through your first plunge, or if you would rather breathe and plunge with a small group than sit alone in a sauna.
