Aura Esthetic Spa & Sauna
98 Buck Rd, Southampton, PA
Aura Esthetic Spa & Sauna is a Bucks County day spa on Buck Road in Southampton with a private Eastern European bath house tucked behind its massage and facial rooms. The banya ritual runs in three stages: a hot steam sauna where attendants work bundles of leafy birch veniki over your skin, a dip in an ice-cold plunge pool, then a thorough wash with organic soap before you settle into a candle-lit resting room with herbal tea, fruit and sweets. The bath house is booked privately by phone rather than sold as drop-in passes: a Sauna for Two package for couples, friends or parent-and-child pairs, and group sauna packages for birthdays, bachelor and bachelorette parties and corporate outings (Philadelphia Magazine reports six to 18 guests). Groups of five or more can get discounts, and party bookings should be made a month ahead with a card on file. Bathrobes, slippers, towels, showers and a changing room are provided, flip-flops are required inside the sauna, and minors must come with an adult. It is open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily; call 215-322-3033 for package pricing. It is a good pick if you want a banya without strangers: the whole space is yours, and you can fold in a massage, scrub or facial from the spa menu.
