The W Philadelphia's AWAY Spa wraps around the hotel's 7th-floor WET Deck, an open-air, year-round heated pool above Chestnut Street, and its newest piece is CONTRAST: an outdoor sauna and cold-plunge circuit on the deck that you work through at your own pace. Inside, AWAY Spa runs a full menu of massages, facials and body treatments with Comfort Zone and Davines products. You do not need to be a hotel guest. The Pool + Wellness Pass, sold through ResortPass from about $95, covers the heated pool, the CONTRAST sauna and plunge, the FIT gym, towels and deck lockers from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, with robes and slippers on request and 10% off a later spa treatment. Passes are for adults 21 and over, the sauna and plunge are subject to day-to-day availability, and lounge chairs are first come, first served. Booking a massage or facial (from about $195) also includes pool access. Valet parking runs about $45. It is the most polished way to do hot-and-cold in Center City: a pool, a sauna and a plunge in the open air seven floors up, with the WET Bar a few steps away for the afternoon after.
