Bathhouse Chicago

1010 W Madison St, Chicago, IL

Bathhouse, the New York bathhouse brand behind the Williamsburg, Flatiron and Atlantic Avenue locations, is building its first spa outside the East Coast at the corner of Madison and Morgan in the West Loop. The Gensler-designed building is about 40,000 square feet over three stories, clad in brick and glass, and the plan published in early 2025 calls for four saunas, steam rooms, three indoor and two outdoor pools spanning hot, cold and salt water, treatment rooms for massage and scrubs, and a rooftop amenity space. It would be the largest bathhouse in Chicago by a wide margin. Construction began in 2025; the foundation was finished over the winter and the walls started going up in spring 2026. The original target was a spring 2026 opening, which has slipped: as of November 2026 no opening date has been announced and Bathhouse's own site lists Chicago as Coming Soon with a sign-up list. Expect the New York format once it opens: day passes (currently $29-39 at the existing locations), daily Sauna Rituals, memberships and packs, and long hours (8 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. in New York). This listing is a placeholder so Chicago sauna-goers can find it; hours, pricing and photos will be added when Bathhouse announces an opening.
