Cold Summer

2275 E Sunset Rd, Unit 1-2, Las Vegas, NV

Cold Summer is a café and contrast-therapy studio on Sunset Road, a few minutes from Harry Reid International Airport. One side is a coffee and smoothie counter; the other is a recovery room built around a sauna and two cold plunge tubs set at different temperatures, both kept somewhere between 40 and 50°F, so a nervous first-timer can ease in on the warmer tub before trying the colder one. A walk-in session is $45 for an hour of sauna and both plunges, and the studio pitches it squarely at travelers killing time on a layover as well as locals. The house routine is about 15 minutes of heat, then two to five minutes in the cold, repeated up to three times. Regulars can buy a four-session pack ($120, credits never expire) or an unlimited membership at $159 a month that adds red light and compression therapy, a monthly guest pass, four free smoothies and 10% off merchandise. What sets it apart is the café: you can finish your last round, change, and sit down with a coffee or smoothie without leaving the building, which makes it as easy a meet-up spot as it is a recovery stop.
