CURE de Repos Chestnut Hill
8439 Germantown Ave, Philadelphia, PA
CURE de Repos is a boutique European-style day spa on Germantown Avenue in Chestnut Hill, the original location of esthetician and former celebrity makeup artist Chrissy Dress, who opened it in 2017 (Philadelphia Magazine's Best New Spa that year). Alongside facials, massage and an Ayurvedic head spa, it has a private infrared sauna and a cold-plunge tank tucked behind the treatment rooms by the spa's outdoor Zen Garden, so you can sweat and chill without the crowd of a gym. Sessions are 30 minutes and for one person: $35 for the sauna, $25 for the cold plunge, or $50 for both, and you can bring a guest for $25. Ten-packs ($300 sauna, $200 plunge, $450 combo) never expire, and monthly bundles of 4, 8 or 12 sessions ($125-$250) are good for 30 days; both work at the Ardmore location too. The sauna is also included with many spa services. Book ahead online through Vagaro or by phone. The spa is closed Mondays and opens Tuesday to Sunday, with late hours to 8 p.m. on Thursdays. It is a good fit for someone who wants contrast therapy in a quiet, polished spa setting, or who wants to stack a sauna and plunge onto a massage or facial for a half-day of recovery.
