Dose Yoga's Downtown Durham studio sits in The Novus on Morris Street and is the biggest of the brand's three Triangle studios: a star-ceilinged hot room for 103-105°F vinyasa, a dim Womb Room for breathwork and deep rest, a café with a walk-up window, and a communal contrast lounge built for fifteen with an infrared sauna, a hot tub and a cold plunge. The heat-and-cold side runs as the Contrast Ritual, a 90-minute, phone-free session you book on Dose's schedule like a class (the current schedule shows a few evening and Saturday-morning slots a week, capped at 12). The suggested rhythm is about nine minutes of heat, one to three minutes in the plunge with box breathing, two or three rounds, then a vitamin C shower and plenty of water. It suits yogis who want to add recovery to a class day and first-timers who want a little structure. Bring a swimsuit; lockers, showers and products are on site, towels and mats rent for $2, and The Novus deck validates 75 minutes of parking at check-in. What sets it apart from a plain sauna studio is the setting: you can take a hot flow, sit in the lounge, and finish with a smoothie from the café without leaving the building.
