Eastend
1132 W Fulton Market, Chicago, IL
Eastend is a 5,000-square-foot wellness club in Fulton Market built around one idea: that heat and cold are better shared. The centerpiece is a 40-person Finnish sauna, run at 180-194°F, the hottest the City of Chicago allows, opening onto a bank of cold plunges held in the low 40s to mid 50s. The space is bright, modern and social, a short walk from Google's Chicago headquarters and Soho House, and the club layers in private infrared rooms, red-light therapy, a salt chamber, compression boots and Ammortal bio-energetic sessions for members who want more than the sauna floor. This is the place for people who like a sauna with a crowd and a plan. Drop-in contrast therapy runs 75 minutes for $45 and follows the house 15:3:10 protocol of sauna, plunge and rest, while sauna-specific group classes, the only ones in Chicago, add guided breathwork and aufguss-style rounds to the schedule. Walk-ins are welcome but advance booking is recommended at peak hours, and memberships start at $76 for two visits a month and run to $195 for unlimited sauna and plunge. Towels, flip-flops, tea and water are included; bring a swimsuit. Founded by Amanda Hanlon and Suman Chagarlamudi, Eastend opened in 2024 and quickly became the anchor of Chicago's new social-sauna scene, with a 5.0 Google rating across more than 200 reviews that single out the staff and the cleanliness of the plunge pools.
