Fire & Ice X

300 S Lenola Rd, Maple Shade, NJ

Fire & Ice X is a small contrast-therapy studio in a shopping center on South Lenola Road in Maple Shade, a short hop over the bridges from Philadelphia, opened in May 2024 by co-founders Tom Bazis and Michael Germano as South Jersey's first dedicated hot-and-cold immersion spa. The X stands for express, and the build is tight and polished: a custom hot-rock cedar sauna on an 18 kW Humm heater at 185-200°F, a two-person steam room at about 125-131°F, a deep plunge pool at 37-47°F with a flow-boosting Turbo button, a second tank about 10 degrees warmer, and a high-flow Swiss shower in the sauna room. Every guest books their own slot, and the sauna is semi-communal with no more than four people at a time, so it never feels crowded. An All Access first visit is $59 for a 75-minute window (an hour of facility time plus 15 minutes to change), 120-minute windows are also offered, and unlimited All Access membership is $195 a month with three guest passes. Cold-plunge-only sessions are 25 minutes for $30, or $135 a month unlimited, with their own changing room and shower. Bring a swimsuit or light athletic wear; towels, sandals, toiletries, blow dryers and water are provided, and there is a 24-hour cancellation policy. The suggested loop is steam, dry sauna, plunge, repeat, with 15-20 minute sauna rounds and 3-5 minutes in the cold. Shared 3-, 5- and 10-visit packs never expire, and the Fire & Ice Express app makes rebooking quick, which is why regulars treat it as a weekday recovery habit rather than a once-a-year spa day.
