FLOAT STL - MidTown

3027 Locust St, St. Louis, MO

FLOAT STL opened its MidTown studio on Locust Street in 2015 as one of St. Louis' first float centers, and it has since grown into a private-room recovery studio. Alongside the float pods sits an infrared sauna room for one or two people that runs around 110-135°F, and since 2024 MidTown has been the only FLOAT STL location with a cold plunge, a tub held somewhere between 40 and 59°F where dips are capped at three minutes. Book the two together as Contrast Therapy and you get the whole heat-and-cold loop in a room that is yours alone. Everything is by reservation through FLOAT STL's online booking. A 30-minute infrared session is $40 ($50 with a friend), 45 minutes $50 and 60 minutes $60; a cold plunge on its own is $20, and 5-packs run $160 for sauna, $80 for plunge and $240 for contrast sessions. Regulars can go unlimited: $200 a month for once-a-day cold plunges or sauna sessions, or $325 a month for daily contrast therapy, with combo memberships that bundle a float, contrast and chair massage from $89. Because the sauna is private, a swimsuit, underwear or nothing but a towel are all fine. The studio is open Tuesday through Sunday, doors at 8 a.m. with first sessions at 8:30, and closed Mondays for cleaning. It is a good first stop for anyone curious about contrast therapy but not ready for a crowded communal sauna: quiet, appointment-only and built around floating, with Normatec compression and chair massage on the menu if you want to stretch the visit out. Guests under 16 need a parent's involvement and the minimum age is 13.
