Framework (Wedgewood-Houston Flagship)
1411 4th Ave S, Nashville, TN
Framework's flagship is a 5,000-square-foot indoor-outdoor sauna and cold plunge studio in Wedgewood-Houston, a few blocks south of downtown Nashville, that opened January 3, 2025 after founder Allen Penn ran a temporary outdoor studio in Berry Hill for most of 2024. The heat comes from seven custom Cedar & Stone traditional saunas in thermally modified ash and cedar with Finnish heaters, split between social rooms, silent rooms and an outdoor patio sauna, all running 175°F and up. Around them sit thirteen commercial-grade cold tubs, solo and shared, inside and out, dialed anywhere from 35°F to 60°F, plus full locker rooms with showers, a TERSA SAVA vibroacoustic sound pod and a zero-proof café upstairs pouring Crema espresso, tea sodas and mocktails. It is a social studio by design: the house rhythm is roughly an hour of heat broken up by ten minutes of cold, you book a time slot online, bring a swimsuit, and towels, hydration and the patio are included. Drop-ins are $35 on weekdays and $55 on weekends, new guests get five sessions for $79 to use within ten days, and memberships run $109 for four sessions, $179 for eight and $249 for unlimited, with guest passes, café and private-room discounts and access to the East Nashville Backyard. Private rooms with their own sauna, tub, rinse shower and seating take up to four people and are priced separately, which makes them a popular bachelorette and birthday booking. Tuesday is the closed day, phones live in the locker, and public service workers get 15% off memberships. With well over a hundred five-star Google reviews that single out the coaching for nervous first-time plungers and the spotless build-out, it has become the anchor of Nashville's contrast therapy scene and the model the brand exported to its outdoor Backyard studio across the river.
