R&R (Recovery & Rehabilitation) Wellness Spa is a South Durham day spa on Fayetteville Road that puts recovery tools next to its massage rooms: a private infrared sauna, a Sauna-Steam suite where an infrared sauna and a steam room connect through a sliding door, float tanks, compression therapy and a whole-body cryotherapy chamber. Everything is private and booked ahead. A solo infrared session is $39 for 30 minutes or $45 for 45 (couples $64/$80), with packs of four ($136) or eight ($248) and an unlimited infrared membership at $179 a month. The Sauna-Steam suite is $65 for 30 minutes or $75 for an hour ($90/$110 for two), and the cryo chamber is $40 for a roughly three-minute sub-zero session. Spa days bundle it all, such as a 60-minute massage plus 45 minutes of infrared for $179, or a couples day of massage, Sauna-Steam and float from $399. Bring loose clothes to change into afterwards, since you keep sweating; robes and slippers are provided. Closed Mondays. The Sauna-Steam room is the draw: being able to step between dry infrared heat and a steam room within one private suite is rare in the Triangle.
