Remedy Spa & Wellness
1208 N 29th St, Philadelphia, PA
Remedy Spa & Wellness is a Black-owned day spa on North 29th Street in Brewerytown, opened by Philadelphia native Cari Young so her neighbors would not have to leave the area for a proper spa day. The space leans tropical, with plants, bamboo, stone and rattan in a Bali-inspired design, and alongside the treatment rooms it keeps an infrared sauna and a cold-plunge pod for contrast therapy. The heat and the cold are booked like any other appointment: either one on its own starts around $25, and a 60-minute session that moves between the infrared sauna and the plunge runs about $70. It works well as a first try at contrast therapy, or as an add-on to a massage, facial, assisted stretch or IV drip booked the same day. The spa is open Tuesday through Saturday, closed Sunday and Monday, and books online through its appointments page. Remedy was named a Best of Philly day spa by Philadelphia Magazine in 2024. It also has a large lounge and takes bridal parties, private events and corporate wellness bookings, which makes it one of the easier places in the neighborhood to bring a group for a sweat-and-plunge afternoon.
