Sauna Plunge RVA

3104 Semmes Ave, Richmond, VA

Sauna Plunge RVA is a mobile contrast-therapy outfit that tows wood-fired, trailer-mounted saunas and ice-cold plunge tubs to wherever the party is: driveways, backyards, Airbnbs, gyms, yoga studios and festivals around Richmond. Each rustic sauna is built for eight and seats six comfortably, and the crew brings the firewood, ice and plunges, plus eucalyptus steam and music when they run a session. Most bookings are private. Staffed events start at $750 for one sauna and two plunges for up to four hours, or $1,500 for two saunas and four plunges, with a host who runs the fire and coaches nervous first-timers through the cold. Self-serve rentals are $500 for the first 24 hours ($175 per extra day) or $900 for two units ($250 per extra day), and plunge-only stations start at $175. You need a driveway or a backyard gate wider than 97 inches, plus a hose. Now and then the crew hosts ticketed community sessions at its HQ on Semmes Ave in Woodland Heights: $25 for a guided hour of rounds. Bring a swimsuit, two towels, slides and a water bottle, and arrive 15 minutes early. Co-founders Josh Crowley, a Williamsburg native, mortgage broker and touring saxophonist, and Liz Bowden, a Richmond native who teaches SUP yoga and breathwork, launched the business in late 2024. They built it around the banyas and saunas Josh had sampled abroad.
