The J Spot

501 S 22nd St, Philadelphia, PA

The J Spot is a boutique wellness and aesthetics studio on a Fitler Square corner at 22nd and Lombard, opened in October 2025 by physician assistant Jacqueline Clarizio in a long-vacant former corner store. She calls it a 'speakeasy med-spa': you walk in through Jax Cafe, a neighborhood coffee and juice counter, and the treatment rooms sit behind it. One of those is a private contrast-therapy room with a HaloSauna, an infrared sauna that disperses fine salt particles for the lungs and skin, and a precision-controlled cold-plunge tank you set to your own temperature. Sauna and plunge time is booked by appointment in 20- or 45-minute blocks, on its own or alongside another treatment. Staff suggest two or three rounds of 15-20 minutes of heat and 3-5 minutes of cold, with shorter rounds for beginners. Wear a swimsuit or workout clothes; robes and towels are provided. Book by phone or through the site, and note the hours: closed Mondays, open from 9 a.m. with early closes on Friday through Sunday. A $199-a-month membership (three-month minimum) comes with $220 in monthly service credit and 10% off services. The contrast room is one piece of a broader menu that runs from IV therapy, vitamin shots and red light to massage, facials and injectables, so it suits someone who wants a quiet, guided first try at sauna and plunge in a polished setting, with a coffee afterward.
