Transitions Float RVA Short Pump
2226 Old Brick Rd, Glen Allen, VA
Transitions Float RVA's Short Pump studio sits in West Broad Village off Old Brick Road and runs mainly as a float spa. It also has a private Fire & Ice room with an infrared sauna and a cold plunge, for a quiet contrast session with no crowd and no schedule but your own. The same building has float pods, a salt cave and red light and near-infrared beds. Fire & Ice sessions are 60 minutes for $40, and one guest can join. A $29 monthly membership (three-month commitment) covers one session a month, with extra sessions at $29. The suggested circuit is 15 minutes in the infrared sauna and 2-3 minutes in the plunge, then one or two shorter rounds. Staff will talk first-timers through the breathing. The room is private, so a swimsuit is optional. Book online ahead of time: the front desk keeps 10-6 hours Tuesday through Sunday, but bookable service slots run from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The infrared heat is gentler than a Finnish sauna (Transitions quotes air around 115-140°F), so this is a good place to try contrast therapy before moving on to a hotter bathhouse. It also pairs well with a float: credits work at all three Transitions locations, and first floats are $49.
