Acqualina Spa by ESPA

17875 Collins Ave, Sunny Isles Beach, FL

Acqualina Spa by ESPA is a 20,000-square-foot spa inside Acqualina Resort, the Mediterranean-style tower on 400 feet of beach in Sunny Isles. Its thermal area is built for contrast: a Finnish sauna with Himalayan salt, a crystal steam room with color therapy, experience showers, an Arctic ice fountain and, since January 2026, a cold plunge that anchors what the spa calls the Ritual Flow, a self-guided loop of heat, cold and rest. Outside, a private oceanfront spa terrace has a heated jet pool with a Roman waterfall, and inside there are women's and co-ed relaxation lounges lined with a Himalayan salt wall. The spa welcomes outside visitors as well as hotel guests, but it does not sell a stand-alone thermal day pass: access comes with a booked treatment or one of the half-day and full-day spa journeys, and reservations are required. The thermal circuit is included with spa services, so book your treatment and arrive early to run a few Ritual Flow rounds first (10-15 minutes in the sauna, 30 seconds to 2 minutes in the plunge). Hours are daily 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Bring swimwear, and note that spa-only visitors do not get the resort's pools, beach or fitness center. This is the quiet, far-north option for people who want a long, unhurried spa day by the ocean rather than a pool scene, and the new plunge makes it a real hot-cold stop for the first time.
