Altered States Wellness Richardson is the first franchise of the Coppell-born float brand, opened January 18, 2025 by David and Leslie Mester in a small shopping center on West Campbell Road just west of US-75, tucked behind CAVA and La La Land. The studio is built around private rooms rather than shared floors: two float cabins big enough for two (a rock-walled Grotto and the vivid Neon Glow room), two Fire & Ice rooms that each pair an infrared sauna cabin with a cold plunge and a Vitamin C shower, and a Lab room with a dual red-light panel, a PEMF mat and compression boots. It is larger than the original Coppell studio and adds the Dreamscape Lounge, a multipurpose room used for monthly sound baths, group parties of up to 16 and corporate wellness sessions. Everything is booked by appointment and done behind a closed door, which makes this an easy first contrast-therapy experience: staff set the sauna to a comfortable starting point, the plunge sits around 40-45°F, and you work through rounds at your own pace with breathwork cues, then rinse in the room's shower before heading to the lounge for kombucha on tap. A Fire & Ice contrast session is $39 for 30 minutes or $59 for 60 minutes (add a friend for $19); a cold plunge alone is $29 (10-pack $99), an infrared sauna session of up to 45 minutes is $39, and The Lab is $29/$49 for 30/60 minutes. Memberships run from $109 a month (Calm State, 2 credits) to $319 for Peak State unlimited, with a three-month minimum. Arrive 5-10 minutes early; towels are provided and a swimsuit is optional since the room is yours. Hours run 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and to 5 p.m. on Sunday, and the studio draws regulars from Plano, Garland and Dallas as well as Richardson. The brand's Altered State Experience ($189) strings the three services together, Lab then Fire & Ice then a 60-minute float, and the Ultimate Date Night adds champagne, charcuterie and flowers to a couples float, a reliably popular booking here.
