Avila Hot Springs
250 Avila Beach Dr, Avila Beach, CA
Avila Hot Springs is a natural artesian mineral hot springs oasis discovered in 1907 by oil drillers and turned into a public soaking destination by the Budan family. The facility sits at the gateway to Avila Beach and Port-San Luis Harbor, and offers a heated freshwater pool with double waterslides, a hot mineral soaking pool, group picnic and BBQ facilities, and an attached campground with cabins, RV hookups, and tent sites. Day passes start at $30 (or $18 after 5pm) — a meaningfully more affordable mineral soaking option than nearby Sycamore Mineral Springs, with a much more family-friendly format. The venue is best for SLO-area locals, families with kids, and campers passing through who want a quick mineral soak alongside the resort-style waterslide pool. Open daily 8am to 9pm. Massage therapy available by appointment. Bike rentals on-site through Wally's give access to the Bob Jones Trail down to Avila Beach.
