AWAY Spa sits on the 16th floor of the W Dallas in Victory Park, sharing the level with the hotel's WET Deck infinity pool and the FIT gym, so the view out over the American Airlines Center and the downtown skyline is as much the point as the treatments. The spa was gutted and redone by Ink + Oro in 2021, with eight pale, art-hung studio rooms, a beauty bar for hair, makeup and nails, and a relaxation lounge stocked with drinks and snacks. The thermal side is small: a wood-lined dry sauna and a steam shower off the men's and women's locker rooms, with no plunge or whirlpool indoors. Non-guests get in two ways. The hotel's Wellness Pass, and the same product sold on ResortPass as the Spa Pass + Day Pass from about $60, covers the dry sauna, steam shower, relaxation lounge, lockers and showers, the gym and the rooftop pool, plus complimentary valet and 10 percent off any treatment of 50 minutes or more. It is adults 21 and over. The cheaper Day Pass, from about $40, is pool and gym only with no spa access. Any booked treatment also includes the sauna, steam shower, pool and gym. The spa runs Thursday through Monday, 9 to 6, and is closed Tuesday and Wednesday, while the pool is open daily 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Think of this as a pool day with a sauna attached rather than a heat destination: the people who rate it highly on ResortPass talk about the quiet rooftop, the quick check-in and the art, and the one-sauna-one-steam-shower set-up suits a warm-up before a swim or a wind-down after a massage. Serious contrast bathers should look to the Crescent or the Thompson a few blocks away.
