Bathers
Somerville, MA (address not yet announced), Somerville, MA
This is a placeholder listing for an announced venue that has not opened. Bathers is a community bathhouse planned for Somerville, Massachusetts, founded by Paige Swanson. The Boston Globe introduced it in an April 2026 story on the region's social-sauna boom, describing it as a "soon-to-be bathhouse in Somerville" and quoting Swanson on why shared heat works: you are doing a genuinely hard thing, possibly with strangers, and even in silence everyone in the room knows it. The project's own landing page says only that "a community bathhouse is coming to Somerville" and invites people to join a founding waitlist. No street address, opening date, room list, prices or hours have been published. The Instagram account (bathers_world) carries the same one-line announcement, and the website asks creators, investors, vendors and collaborators to get in touch by email. Until the venue announces a location, this listing is pinned to the center of Somerville and will be updated as soon as a site, a floor plan or an opening window is made public. What is known about the concept comes entirely from the founder's public framing: a bathhouse built around communal bathing rather than private suites, in a city that already has a seasonal sauna village and a hot-yoga sauna room but no year-round public bathhouse of its own. If you want to be first through the door, the founding waitlist on bathers.world is the only sign-up that exists today.
