Boston Recharge

275 Mystic Ave, 2nd Floor, Medford, MA

Boston Recharge is a small contrast-therapy studio on the second floor of 275 Mystic Avenue in Medford, run by Gabby Picardi inside the Boston Physical Therapy & Wellness building. Instead of one communal room, each guest gets a private suite with its own infrared sauna and cold plunge tub (a Bluetooth speaker included), so a session is yours alone or shared only with whoever you bring. Rounding out the recovery menu are full-body Normatec compression, Hyperice percussion tools, a red-light room used for yoga and a private Pilates room. The signature booking is the 45-minute Contrast session at $59, alternating infrared heat and the plunge at your own pace; a 30-minute Sauna-only session is $49, a 15-minute Cold Plunge is $39, and a Normatec/Hyperice recovery block is $39. Memberships are the better deal if you come weekly: Silver is $149 a month for eight sessions and Premium is $199 for unlimited sessions, both with the private sauna-and-plunge rooms and the compression tools included. Everything is booked through Mindbody (it is also on ClassPass, where it holds a 4.9 from 100+ ratings). Wear a swimsuit or gym clothes (clothing is required), take off jewelry before the heat, hydrate first, and bring a stainless-steel bottle because plastic and glass are banned from the plunge room; towels are supplied and there is a stocked shower. Hours alternate by day, mornings 7 AM to noon on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and afternoons 2 to 7 PM on Tuesday and Thursday, closed weekends. It is a PT-adjacent recovery room rather than a social sauna: reviewers are marathoners and weekly regulars who like that it is clean, private and affordable, and that nobody is watching you plunge.
