Degree Wellness South Reno is the Reno studio of a national recovery chain, set in a South Virginia Street shopping center and organized as a menu of private, one-person sessions rather than a shared bathhouse. Five private suites handle infrared sauna, cold plunge and contrast therapy, each with its own vitamin C-infused shower, a mini-fridge of chilled water and an aromatherapy compress, and separate rooms hold a whole-body cryotherapy chamber (about -175 degrees for three minutes), red light therapy and NAD+ and IV drips. It is built for people who want structured, timed recovery: a 45-minute infrared session, a 3-5 minute plunge, or the two back to back as a contrast session. Your first session of any service is $25, and after that most people use a membership: Core ($79 a month, 2 sessions), Premier ($189, 8 sessions) or Unlimited ($299, usable at any Degree Wellness location). Book online, by phone or text, or in the app, and walk-ins are taken when a suite is free. Robes, sandals, slippers and towels are provided, plus gloves for cryo and socks and shorts for the plunge; arrive 10 minutes early to check in. Open seven days, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends, it is one of the easier places in south Reno to fit a quick hot-cold session around a workday.
