Gangnam Sauna

6005 Buford Hwy, Norcross, GA

Gangnam Sauna is a 24-hour Korean jjimjilbang on Buford Highway in Norcross, the most budget-friendly of the big Gwinnett bathhouses. The bath floors are gender-separated, with big hot and cold soaking tubs, a wet steam sauna and shower booths, and the shared floor holds a run of progressive heat rooms in red clay, salt and jade, plus a dry sauna and an ice room for cooling down. Add a body scrub, a facial or acupressure, or stay for the open-air terrace and kids' zone. It is walk-in only and never closes. General admission is $30 at the front desk, seniors pay $20 and children $15; kids under 4 are not admitted. The house advice is 20-30 minutes in the tubs and 10-20 minutes in each sauna room, so give yourself a couple of hours. Scrubs run from $60 for a basic 30-minute exfoliation to $190 for a two-hour gold package. The restaurant is the other reason to come: a long Korean menu of soups, stews, kimbap, tteokbokki and bulgogi from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., with tax and tip already included in the price, plus sikhye and other traditional drinks to rehydrate between rounds.
