Joya Spa (Omni Montelucia)
4949 E Lincoln Dr, Paradise Valley, AZ
Joya Spa is the 31,000-square-foot spa of the Omni Scottsdale Resort at Montelucia in Paradise Valley, styled after the hammams of Andalusia and Morocco with carved wood, tile and lantern light, and built around a rooftop deck, the Joya Terrace, with a pool, a hot tub and a straight-on view of Camelback Mountain. The wet facilities are a dry sauna and a steam room in the locker areas plus the terrace hot tub; there is no cold plunge, so this is a heat-and-soak spa rather than a contrast circuit. Non-hotel guests get in two ways. The simplest is the Spa Pass sold through ResortPass, currently from about $99 per adult (listed as low as $75 at some points), which includes the rooftop pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room, relaxation lounge, the fitness center and one class that day, with validated self-parking. The resort also sells day passes at spa reception for full-day use of the amenities, priced by season, excluded on holidays, plus tax and a 20 percent service charge for the locker-room attendants. Either way it is 18 and over, and the pass does not include the family Kasbah pool or the adults-only Oasis pool, which have their own day passes. Spa hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and to 6:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Joya runs themed days through ResortPass as well, such as a Spanish-inspired spa day with sangria and a flamenco fitness class, and sells spa memberships for locals.
