Koti Sauna is an outdoor neighborhood Finnish sauna and cold plunge tucked into a backyard property in Milwaukie, just south of Portland. The format is intentionally elemental — a wood-clad sauna heated to 185-195°F with three tiers of cedar benches, birch-scented steam, and garden views. Outside, a cold plunge tub and outdoor shower set in a small landscaped yard. Koti is Finnish for 'home', and the space feels like one. Sessions run on a community-or-private model: you can book a shared session for around $35 or rent the entire space privately for a small group. Pre-sauna and post-sauna lounging happens in the garden between rounds. The aesthetic is quiet, rustic, and decidedly non-spa — closer to a traditional Scandinavian neighborhood mökki sauna than to a downtown wellness studio. Best fit for someone who wants the most authentic outdoor sauna experience close to Portland — couples, friend groups, or solo regulars looking for a weekly heat ritual. Closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
