Lapis Spa at Fontainebleau Miami Beach

4441 Collins Ave, Miami Beach, FL

Lapis is the two-level, 40,000-square-foot spa inside the Fontainebleau, and its thermal side is built around water rather than dry heat. The Lapis Ritual Water Journey moves you through a eucalyptus infusion steam room, an immersion mineral jet bath held at 104°F, the Bleau Rain Room and an energy deluge shower, then into the Essence pool, a 75-foot co-ed mineral pool with multi-temperature jets around 92°F. Heated hammam benches are where everyone ends up lying between rounds. There is no dry sauna and no true cold plunge here; the cool-down is the rain room and showers. The spa is adults only (18+), smoke- and alcohol-free, and open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. The house rule on the spa menu is that a 50-minute treatment or package unlocks the facilities, and a Water Journey comes with every day-spa service; the easier route for a non-guest is the Lapis Spa Access Pass on ResortPass, currently from $100 per adult, which covers the steam, jet bath, mineral pool, robe, slippers, towels and locker rooms but not the hotel's pools or beach. Arrive an hour before any treatment to do the full journey first, and budget 10-20 minutes in the mineral pool and 7-10 in the jet bath. This is the right pick for a slow, warm, social soak with a partner or friends rather than a hard sauna-and-plunge session: the co-ed pool is the heart of it, and the menu frames each journey as a loop of steam, rain, pool and bench with a fruit-and-juice break in the middle.
