Moki South Boston is the first permanent home of the sauna village that founder Mark Peloquin started as a winter pop-up on the Rose Kennedy Greenway in 2023. It opened in November 2025 in a converted building on Dorchester Ave near Broadway station, and it keeps the village idea indoors and out: three Nordic-style cedar saunas (the four-person Cozy Cabin, the eight-person Treehouse with its raised benches, and a six-person outdoor sauna), a big cedar barrel cold plunge inside, more barrels in the courtyard, showers between rounds and plenty of seating to come back to. The heat is serious, with one visiting writer reporting a room around 170°F before a plunge that leaves the whole bench gasping. You book a Social Session, which is a two-hour window (a one-hour option is also sold) with the run of every sauna and plunge in the building, shared with whoever else reserved that slot; nobody expects you to talk, but most people do. Drop-in is $59, a Core membership is $139 a month for four sessions, and Unlimited is $260 a month with one guest pass; a 10-session pack is sold for any location. Reservations are recommended and walk-ins are taken when there is room. Bring a swimsuit and a water bottle; towels and sandals are handed to you at the desk, robes rent for a small fee, and lockers, heated changing rooms and bathrooms are included. Children are welcome with a parent if under 14, you can cancel up to 12 hours ahead, and evening slots fill first since weekday hours start at 5 p.m. For groups the three saunas rent privately, with the outdoor sauna opening straight onto the plunges, and the owner answers Google reviews personally. Note that on some days the outdoor sauna and plunges are offline (the booking page flags it), so check the day's note before you book if the courtyard is the draw.
