Pause Buckhead is a full-menu recovery studio in Paces Ferry Plaza on Northside Parkway, the Atlanta outpost of a Venice Beach float studio that has grown into a national franchise. The thermal side is built around private suites: full-spectrum infrared saunas sized for two (some fit four), each with its own shower stocked with bath products, and contrast suites that add a cold plunge kept between about 38 and 50°F right beside the sauna. Around them sit float tanks with 1,000 pounds of Epsom salt, a full-body LED light bed, whole-body cryotherapy, Normatec compression and IV drips. You book by the block. On the studio's booking page a 30-minute infrared sauna is $55 and 60 minutes is $69, while contrast (sauna plus plunge) is $69 for 30 minutes and $95 for 60. Credit memberships run from $159 for 12 credits to $479 for 50, with a sauna or contrast guest pass each month, and a Plus One can be added for $49. Pause suggests cycling about nine minutes of heat, three minutes of cold and a minute of rest, starting with the sauna. Bring a friend for a small per-person fee, arrive on time (there is a 15-minute grace period), and cancel at least six hours out to avoid a $30 fee. Guests 16 and 17 can use non-medical services with written parental consent. The staff walk first-timers through the suite before leaving you to it, and reviewers keep coming back to how clean and calm the space is, which makes it an easy place to try contrast therapy for the first time or to stack heat and cold with a float.
