Plunge Boston

880 Broadway Suite M, Saugus, MA

Plunge Boston is a cold-water-first recovery studio in a former gym unit on Route 1 North in Saugus, opened in early 2025 by Adam Dion, a disabled Army veteran, and Ilya Gluskin, a doctor of physical therapy who ran Fitzgerald PT clinics in Melrose and Wilmington. The floor is built around five commercial plunge tubs with NSF-50 filtration and chillers, each set to a different temperature so first-timers can start in a warmer tub and regulars can go straight to the 37°F one, plus custom-built traditional dry saunas that run to about 195°F. Around them sit a red-light room with BioMAX 900 panels, a Hyperice Normatec compression lounge, a mobility floor with foam rollers and stretching tools, and treatment space for dry needling, cupping and soft-tissue work. A single day pass is $50, never expires and covers a self-paced studio session (a Groupon version is sold as two hours) across the tubs, saunas, red light and Normatec; 5- and 10-pass bundles, three-day-a-week and unlimited memberships are sold on the site without published prices, and members get $30 friend passes, family discounts and 15 percent off bodywork. You can drop in or book a slot online, check in at the kiosk or app, sign the waiver, and go; swimsuits are required in the tubs, towels and flip-flops are provided, and there are showers, lockers, a drinking fountain and free parking out front. Open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays and 8 to 4 on weekends; it is also bookable through Wellhub. The crowd skews toward runners, Hyrox and CrossFit athletes and people in PT, and the studio leans into that with pre-race and recovery offers, pop-up plunges at events and a 'co-ed, welcoming all' tone rather than a spa hush.
