Plunge House

3216 South Blvd, Suite 202, Charlotte, NC

Plunge House calls itself the world's first private plunge house: a members' contrast-therapy club on the second floor of a South Boulevard building in Lower South End, founded by brand builder Amanda Hall and ISI Elite Training founder Adam Rice, who started with a plunge setup in a Charlotte backyard. The Plunge Room is lined with more than two dozen hot and cold pods, and each member is assigned a personal pair, a hot soak and a cold plunge kept around 48°F, so you can alternate on your own schedule without sharing water. Sessions are booked in the app and run 30 minutes in your pod; arrive about 20 minutes early to use the steam-rock sauna or a vitamin-C shower in the locker room first. Entry is by a member code, with towel service, an individual locker, a hot tea bar and a beauty bar included. Most members sweat in a towel and plunge in workout clothes. Access is by membership application, with a one-time intro offer for first-time visitors and local residents 18 and over; the booking platform shows a local residency membership around $99 a month on a 12-month contract. Note the split hours (7 a.m.-1 p.m. and 4-7:30 p.m. most weekdays) and that it is closed Wednesdays. Built by people from the training world, it suits athletes and regulars who want a quick, structured recovery routine rather than a lingering spa day, and the space is also bookable for private events.
