Sauna Culture
274 S Sharon Amity Rd, Unit 1, Charlotte, NC
Sauna Culture is a small, locally owned Finnish sauna studio in a Cotswold strip on South Sharon Amity Road, opened because its owners felt Charlotte lacked a real Finnish sauna. The shared room is the genuine article, not infrared: a stove loaded with stones, tiered cedar benches, dry air and 180-200°F heat that you steer yourself by ladling water on the rocks. Outside the door sit three individual cold plunges at roughly 55°F, 50°F and 45°F, so nobody shares a tub and a first-timer can start on the gentle one. A visit is a 90-minute session that covers sauna, plunges and the tea lounge: $40 on weekdays and $50 on weekends, with monthly memberships at $90 for four visits or $185 for fifteen, pausable anytime, and a bring-a-buddy two-week trial for newcomers. Towels, water and a locker are included; bring a swimsuit, which is required in the co-ed shared spaces, and leave your phone in the locker. Parking is free out front, and the studio opens at 7 a.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays. For couples or a small group, the locked private suite holds up to four for 90 minutes with its own Himalayan salt-block sauna, a dedicated cold plunge, a private shower, towels and robes, reported at around $150 per booking.
