The Ritual
Mobile, serves Dallas-Fort Worth (pop-up locations vary), Dallas, TX
The Ritual is Dallas's guided, wood-fired mobile sauna, an eight-seat cedar Finnish sauna on a custom trailer that founder Debra OBanion had built by a third-generation Finnish sauna maker in Duluth and brought to Texas in March 2025. The idea came out of a solo trip to Finland after her son survived a critical illness, and the experience is modeled on everyday Finnish sauna culture: a host runs the stove, throws water on the stones for löyly, and walks the group through rounds of heat, cold, rest and hydration with no phones and no distractions. The cold side is the Nordic Wave, an ozone-filtered portable plunge with adjustable temperature that comes along at no extra charge, with a cold splash or open-air cool-down for anyone not ready to submerge. Sessions are booked by inquiry rather than off a public calendar. The Core Ritual is a private, fully guided session for up to six guests; the Social Ritual is the shared version for larger gatherings, neighborhood groups and rec-center or wellness events; and the Signature Ritual is a bespoke build for bigger occasions. Firewood, set-up, take-down, guiding and essentials are included, delivery is free within 15 miles of the Dallas base, and a typical session runs about three rounds of 10-15 minutes in the heat. Pricing is quoted on inquiry. Guests must be 18 or older, wear a swimsuit, and bring two towels, sandals and a water bottle; privacy tents can be provided for changing. The sauna needs a flat, level spot with a hose and power. The Ritual also turns up at public events, such as the free Wellness Reset day at Dallas Urby in the Design District in September 2026, where it ran open sauna and plunge sessions for a few hours alongside pilates and breathwork; follow the Instagram account for the next pop-up.
