The Ritz-Carlton Spa, Dallas is the 12,000-square-foot spa off the lobby of the Uptown Ritz on McKinney Avenue, redone by ForrestPerkins as a garden retreat that borrows from the Arboretum, the Nasher sculpture garden and Turtle Creek. Behind the treatment rooms the spa runs a classic hotel heat circuit on each side of the house: a dry cedar-plank sauna, a eucalyptus steam room, the Healing Waters whirlpool and a cold plunge, with private lockers, rain showers and a relaxation lounge for each sex and a co-ed lounge in the middle where champagne and light bites are served. The hotel's own line is that the sauna, steam, plunge and whirlpool are reserved for spa guests, which in practice means anyone booking a treatment of 50 minutes or longer, but there is a way in without a massage: the spa sells a Spa Pass through ResortPass, from about $125 depending on the date, for adults 18 and over, covering all of the heat and water facilities, robes, slippers, towels, water and teas, and complimentary valet. The pass is spa-only and does not include the rooftop pool, and the fitness center is a separate hotel facility. The spa is open 8:30 to 7 every day, appointments are required, and a 23 percent service charge is added to treatments. Rooms with a 50-minute massage or facial plus the pass run from roughly $210 to $220 on the same platform. This is the most expensive of the Dallas hotel spa passes, and what you are paying for is the room rather than the heat: it is quiet, immaculately kept and rarely crowded, and 2026 pass holders call it one of their favorite spas in the city for exactly that reason. Come with a few hours free and treat it as a slow circuit rather than a quick sauna stop.
