The Spa at The Cooper
176 Concord St, Charleston, SC
The Spa at The Cooper is the 7,000-square-foot spa inside The Cooper, the waterfront hotel on Concord Street that opened in Charleston's French Quarter in 2026. Rather than one hot room, it runs a hydrothermal circuit. A Sanarium offers a gentler, lower-temperature sauna in a dry or humid setting. There is a laconium warming bench and, per Forbes, a steam room. To cool down you use a deluge shower and a customizable experience shower. There is no plunge pool, so the cold side of the circuit is showers only. Seven treatment rooms, one of them for couples, open onto seven private relaxation spaces, among them a hydrotherapy lounge. The thermal areas come with a treatment. The relaxation lounge, wet areas and changing rooms are reserved for hotel guests and visitors with a confirmed treatment, and access is 18+. Locals can book: hotel guests have the spa seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., while non-overnight guests can book appointments Monday through Thursday. Forbes suggests arriving early or staying late to work through the full circuit. The menu runs from Swedish, deep tissue and lymphatic massage to a sports recovery massage with a red-light add-on, plus medical-grade and organic facials. Prices are on the spa's PDF menu rather than the website, and treatments can be booked online through the spa's booking page. The Cooper's Recovery Room has compression therapy, a zero-gravity bed and a cryo lounger, but it is for overnight guests only, so a local spa visit centers on the heat-and-shower circuit and a long rest in one of the relaxation rooms.
