The Spa at The Joule
1530 Main St, Dallas, TX
The Spa at The Joule is the 8,000-square-foot subterranean spa under the Joule, the 1927 neo-Gothic bank building on Main Street that Tim Headington turned into downtown's flagship hotel. Adam Tihany designed it in dark blue-gray tile around a geothermal idea: the European Heat Experience is a circuit of a eucalyptus dry sauna, a crystal steam room, experience showers and a rainfall shower, an ice fountain for the cold stage, and a heated co-ed vitality pool with air-massage loungers at the center. Men's and women's relaxation rooms with tea and pastries sit off the pool, and eight treatment rooms run Biologique Recherche, Environ and Candela facials and long-form body rituals. The spa was refreshed in 2024 with a street-facing retail front and an Express Facial Bar in the lobby. There is no day pass. The heat circuit and vitality pool come with a spa treatment, and the spa asks you to arrive up to an hour early to use them; the 30- and 45-minute Express Facial Bar services, waxing and brows do not include access. Non-hotel guests are welcome on that basis, with guests 18 and over for the facilities, a 23 percent service charge on the bill and 24-hour cancellation. Treatments are priced at the top of the Dallas market, with facials reported from roughly $215 and the signature 110-minute The Joule ritual around $295, and the spa carries a waitlist for popular slots. Hours run 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, valet is complimentary, and the spa is phone- and camera-free. If you book, build the heat circuit into the appointment rather than treating it as an afterthought: sauna, steam, ice fountain, then the vitality pool, is the sequence the design intends, and the hour before a treatment is the only time you will get it. The Joule's rooftop pool, sold to the public through ResortPass, is a separate hotel facility and does not include the spa.
