The Space Fort Lauderdale

1271 NE 9th Ave, Fort Lauderdale, FL

The Space is a veteran-owned recovery studio in Fort Lauderdale's Middle River area, on NE 9th Avenue just north of Sunrise Boulevard, built around a row of eight cold plunge tubs held at different temperatures from about 37°F to 55°F. Two saunas run at roughly 176°F and 198°F, red light panels sit alongside, and the space opens to the outdoors, so a session feels more like a neighborhood hangout than a clinic. Founders Socratis Christoforou, a certified breathwork facilitator, and Joseph Dominguez built it around breathwork and community as much as cold. You can drop in for open plunge-and-sauna time ($40, or $49 with red light) from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and on shorter weekend mornings, or join a 45-minute guided Breathwork & Cold Plunge class, held at 7:15 a.m., noon and 5:30 p.m. on weekdays and 8:15 a.m. on weekends. Packs never expire, a week unlimited is $100, and memberships run from $75 for two visits a month to $195 unlimited, with a new-member deal of $149 a month for the first two months. Staff walk beginners through picking a tub temperature, which makes it an easy place to try plunging for the first time. Thursdays are the community night of the week: free breathwork sessions for veterans and service members, and Athlete Recovery Yoga in the evening. Regulars rate it near-perfect on Google, and the team also hosts sound baths and private group bookings.
