The Standard Spa sits on Belle Isle, a quiet residential island on the Venetian Causeway, in the low-slung former Lido Spa Hotel that has been a Miami Beach bathing retreat since the 1950s. The hotel's real draw is its hydrotherapy floor, which the spa calls a playground: a Turkish-style hammam of heated marble with a central belly stone, a eucalyptus aroma steam room, a hemlock dry sauna, an ice room, a Roman waterfall hot tub at 100-103°F and an arctic plunge held at 50-60°F, plus a scrub room, sound showers and a falling water column. Outside, a heated infinity pool looks straight across Biscayne Bay toward the downtown skyline. The property is adults-only, and non-guests need to be 21 or older. There are two ways in for a non-guest. Day passes are sold online Monday through Thursday, subject to availability, and cover the pool and the third-floor spa amenities; on ResortPass the Spa Pass + Pool Access is currently listed from $250 per adult, while the cheaper $175 Day Pass covers the pool, hot tub and plunge but not the spa. The other route is booking a treatment: any service over $125 Monday to Thursday, or over $225 Friday to Sunday, includes hydrotherapy access. The spa is open daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., parking is valet only, and the house rules allow tops off in the pool area and spa amenity rooms but bottoms must stay on. Expect a social, slightly downtempo scene rather than a hushed one: the Standard runs midweek spa specials, members get pool privileges, and people drift between the hammam, the plunge and the bayside lounge chairs for most of the afternoon. Weekday visits are the sweet spot, both because passes are only sold Monday to Thursday and because weekend treatment minimums are higher.
