Tierra Santa Healing House fills the third floor of the Faena Hotel, the restored 1948 Saxony on Mid-Beach, with 22,000 square feet of gold, marble and Latin American healing lore. Its Thermal Sanctuary is a sequence of eight wet zones: a staging area, a waterfall shower, a double-height hammam centered on a heated hexagonal gobek tasi of amazonite stone and filled with jasmine steam (billed as one of the largest hammams on the East Coast), a eucalyptus herbal steam room that runs hottest of all, a wet scrub room, a multi-tier Scandinavian sauna of African obeche and Canadian hemlock scented with wild orange, a two-seat marble Ice Parlor that cools you with ice and chilled air, and a tepidarium of body-warm stone beds with rose bud tea. Tierra Santa does not sell a standalone day pass. Non-guests get into the Thermal Sanctuary by booking a treatment or a day-spa package, and are invited to arrive an hour early to use the heat rooms first; the Bathing Ritual in the hammam is an extra-cost add-on. Day packages start with the morning group yoga class and move into the hammam and wet spa, and past Miami Spa Months offers ran a 150-minute morning ritual for about $109 plus tax and service, but regular treatments sit well above $200. Come here for the ritual rather than the contrast: the cold is an ice room and a waterfall rather than a plunge pool, but the hammam scrub and the shaman-designed treatments make it one of the most theatrical heat experiences on the beach.
