True REST Charlotte is the Plaza Midwood branch of the national True REST float chain, on Pecan Avenue just off Central. Floating is still the main event, in private oval float pods filled with heavily salted water, but the studio has added a Vitality Suite: a private room that puts an infrared sauna, a cold plunge tub and red light therapy together, so you can run heat-and-cold rounds on your own schedule without anyone else in the room. A Vitality Suite session is $65 drop-in, and a standard 60-minute float is $89 (first-time floaters get an intro rate). Memberships are month to month with no initiation fee: Essential is $89 for two sessions, Elevate $149 for four and Thrive $199 for eight, each shareable with one to three other people, and they are only valid at this location. It is an easy first step into contrast therapy, since the room is private and the staff walk you through it; pair a suite session with a float for a long reset. Showers, towels and toiletries are provided, and members get a free oxygen bar session when they come in. Bring a contact lens case if you plan to float.
