Well & Being Spa (Fairmont Scottsdale Princess)

7575 E Princess Dr, Scottsdale, AZ

Well & Being Spa is the 44,000-square-foot spa of the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, and its thermal circuit is one of the most complete in the north Valley: a Swedish dry sauna, a wet steam room, a eucalyptus aromatherapy room, a Swiss shower, a hot therapeutic whirlpool, a cold plunge pool and the renovated co-ed Grotto waterfall pool, with an adults-only rooftop pool above it that is reserved for spa guests. A Sisley-Paris spa-within-a-spa handles facials, and the fitness center and resort classes are part of the package. Access is the thing to understand before you go. The resort's own $75 spa day pass (Monday to Thursday) is sold to hotel guests who have no treatment booked; Friday through Sunday the spa is limited to guests with appointments. If you are not staying at the Princess, the published route in is a treatment: ResortPass sells a Well & Being treatment plus pool and thermal-circuit access from about $179, a 60-minute deep tissue massage from $189 and the Sisley-Paris facial experience from $199, each with a 20 percent service charge collected on site, adults 18 and older only. Travelzoo has periodically sold a spa-and-pool day (regular price listed at $235), which suggests a non-guest day rate exists at the desk in some seasons; ask when you call. The spa runs from 6 a.m. into the evening daily, so an early morning circuit before the pool fills is realistic. The layout rewards a long stay: the Grotto's waterfall pool is the social center, the rooftop pool is the quiet one, and the eucalyptus room between the sauna and the plunge is where most guests end up lingering.
