Zenova Spa & Wellness at Pier Sixty-Six
2301 SE 17th St, Fort Lauderdale, FL
Zenova Spa & Wellness is the 13,000-square-foot spa inside the rebuilt Pier Sixty-Six resort on the Intracoastal in Harbor Beach, and its centerpiece is Via Aquae, a co-ed thermal circuit of heat, cold and water. The headline is a ceremonial sauna billed as the first of its kind in the Southeast, inspired by European aufguss rooms, where a trained Saunameister leads daily rituals with aromatherapy-scented snowballs, towel waving and sound. Around it sit a Snow Room held at 10 to 14°F with alpine forest scents, a warm indoor Vitality Pool for floating, a Sensory Shower that cycles hot and cold water with colored light and aroma, and private steam rooms in the men's and women's locker areas. Access is the catch. The resort says the spa is for hotel guests and members of the Pier Sixty-Six club, and there is no standalone spa day pass. The way in for everyone else is ResortPass, which sells treatment packages that include same-day spa access: a 60-minute facial plus spa access from about $197, a 60-minute massage plus spa access from $250, and a massage-and-pool package at $299, all 18+ and with a 20% service charge added on site. Book ahead, arrive at least an hour before your treatment to change and run the circuit (the spa requires it before facials), and expect a cashless spa. Few places in Florida stage a sauna like a performance. If you want the aufguss itself, ask when the Saunameister sessions run when you book, because third-party listings have at times flagged the sauna as out of order.
