Scandinavian Heat Club is an open-air sauna club opening soon at Barnes Tennis Center in Ocean Beach. The setup is simple and outdoors: a cedar sauna, a row of cold plunge tubs, outdoor showers and a sun deck, with lockers, towels and changing rooms on site. Every visit is a 75-minute guided session for up to 14 guests, led by a trained Gus Master through three cycles of heat, cold and breathwork. Four session styles — Deep Flow, Reset, Vibe and Upbeat — keep the same protocol but change the music, aroma and pace, so you can pick a slow, quiet round or a high-energy one. Drop-ins are listed at $38, with founding memberships for regulars and private bookings for groups of up to 40. It is the closest thing San Diego has to a European-style guided sauna ritual, and a good fit for anyone who wants a social, instructor-led session rather than a private infrared room. Opening date has not been announced.
